Join author and wellness coach KJ Landis as she shares real food solutions for a healthier life. We will learn together how to shift from the standard American diet to a healthful and nutrient dense eating style that uses slow shifts that won't make you feel deprived. Tastes provided in this interactive workshop.
2.Good Fats, Bad Fats with KJ Landis
There has been so much conflicting information in the media recently about what fats are good to eat. What the heck should I eat to be healthy? In this interactive workshop, author and wellness expert KJ Landis will tell the latest scientific truths and dispel the myths. Tastes of bad, good, better, and best fats provided!
3.The F Word: Fermented Foods!
Join local author and wellness coach KJ Landis as we learn the history and benefits of fermented foods. This is a hands on workshop where you will go home with your own jar of fermented veggies! All ages welcome. Tastes shared with love!
4.Words of Wellness: A Reading and Meditation with Local Author KJ Landis.
Be prepared to open your mind to new healing methods from old trauma and everyday stress with KJ Landis' reading from her new book, How to Clean Up Your Life When the $#!+ Hits the Fan. Participants will learn skills for coping and combatting those things that keep us stagnant in our lives. A guided meditation and Q & A to follow.
5.Make Food, Not War! (With Your Children)
Author KJ Landis and her young daughter, Sage, will teach kids and their parents how to stop fighting over snacks, how to choose healthy versions of old favorites, and how to rid the space of negativity before cooking together. This will be a fun, hands-on workshop that will include the Negative Thought Pot, food samples, and interactive snack creating.
6.Essential Oils for Healing
The oldest medicines come from nature. Essential oils are
mentioned in the Bible and the Koran, as well as every holy book. We will learn the most effective oils to use for anxiety and stress relief and make our own tinctures to keep.
7.Yoga for Healing
Yoga need not be strenuous to be an effective vacation from the rest of your life. It is a moving meditation. Stretching with intentional breath is not just for hippies or for the rich and famous. Motion is the lotion. If you want to grow old with ability and flexibility you must stretch daily. A little bit the right way does wonders in every way.
8.Chocolate: The Other C Word!
In this workshop we learn the ancient history, the science,and the health benefits of high-quality cacao products. Tastes provided.
9.Smoothies and Juicing
What's the different health benefits gained from enjoying juice or smoothies from scratch? What are the dangers? Let's find out as you make your own in this interactive workshop.
10.Grain free, Sugar Free Desserts
Dessert can be healthy! Let go of the guilt with wellness author KJ Landis. This is a hands-on workshop where the participants make stuffed strawberries, chocolate truffles, and chocolate bark with raw nuts and seeds, dried fruits and coconut. All sugar free and grain free!
11.Ginger for Health! This is a lecture and tasting of gingery foods. The participants will learn the ancient history and benefits of ginger as well as the latest scientific data. Q & A follows.
12.Garlic for Health! Grandma was right to put garlic in everything! The workshop details garlic health properties, and the history of the plant being used around the world for centuries. Tastes and recipes provided, followed by Q & A.
13.All Natural Body Scrubs! The products we put on our skin should reflect how we want to feel and look: healthy and vibrant. Many store scrubs have artificial chemicals and preservatives in them. We will make our own softening and exfoliating scrubs out of butters and essential oils.
14.Lactose Intolerance
This is an interactive workshop outlining the history and science of lactose intolerance, what the secret names for dairy are in our common foods, and which populations are more susceptible to having a lactose intolerance. We will then learn which non-dairy foods have calcium and vitamin D.
15.Coffee Truths and Myths
This is a lecture and tastng of the lowest quality coffees all the way up to the highest quality coffees, the history and science behind the world's favorite beverage! Coffee can be great for our health and I will teach you how to implement it into your regime. Even decaf is healthy, as I am a decaf drinker now as well.
As a life and wellness coach, I reach the marginalized, senior folks, and working class communities (like me, a server at night) who may not understand the science behind the purpose. I show folks how to take it from the doctor's office into their own lives, daily. I even host outings called DOLLAR STORE PALEO. All of my events are hands on and interactive.
In my first book, I cover four anti-cancer healing therapies that are food based. These therapies are also good for other chronic conditions, as outlined in my book. For the past hundred years there have been doctors who have used these methods, but their developments have been swept under the rug by our government because it just doesn't make money like chemotherapy and pharmaceuticals.
