One way to increase interest in your business is to create a weekly blog about your passion and your industry.
Whenever you have a great idea related to your business, jot it down. It can be on a paper notebook, an electronic device, or even on a napkin in a restaurant. Later on, write a few paragraphs about it and blog about it on a free or hosted website that you create yourself. If you are technologically challenged like I was, enlist the help of the younger generation. Within a few months you will be savvy.
I suggest blog once a week or more. Tell all of your friends and family to share your words on social media. And of course you must join a social media like Facebook or Twitter as well to point people toward your blog. If you have a photo to go along with your blog then put your link on Instagram too.
Another way to build your client base is to have an email sign up at your place of business if you have a brick and mortar office or storefront. That way when you have a new blog or a sale you can send a short letter out telling folks about the blog of the week and the promotion or sale. You may encourage them to share and that will build the tribe!
Word of mouth is the best business builder. If you go to the library or community center and offer a free workshop in your area of expertise, people usually are receptive. Bring food, drinks, and pamphlets or business cards. Speak from your heart and be open to criticism too. People have been burned in every business.
Be authentic, and folks can feel the authenticity. Being real and being fair are what brings clients back, has them talking about you, and builds loyalty.
I want to hear from you.
Blessings,
KJ Landis
