Then we get into sports, dance, and school PE activities. As time goes on, we usually favor driving, taking the bus, or taxi over walking. As adults, our studies and careers take over for most of us, and we are more sedentary. We are a product of our modern lifestyle.
I invite you join me in the free and fundamental movement of walking. Walking doesn't need any special equipment or fancy clothing. Walking uphill is sometimes called hiking. If there aren't cars around and we are in nature on trails it is also called hiking.
Walking decreases blood pressure, improves mood, strengthens muscles, increases oxygen in the blood, improves circulation, eyesight, and makes us look younger! It lubricates the joints and controls the blood sugar. Walking is a great way to begin any exercise protocol. We can add as little or as much to our program as we desire.
I walk because...
It gives me alone time.
It gives me bonding time with friends.
It makes me smile
It gives me vitamin D..
I feel the sun and wind on my face.
I get to wear cool shades.
I see animals.
I feel my heart thump.
I feel my thigh muscles working.
I feel my booty working.
I receive all the answers to my problems.
I listen to podcasts uninterrupted.
I use my five senses.
I listen to music I like for a change.
I can talk to myself without anyone judging me.
It is sooooo Paleo.
I feel connected to everything else in the universe when I do.
