Authentic Expression in the Workplace

Are you not being taken seriously at work when brainstorming ideas in a group? Do you raise your hand at department meetings and are overlooked? Are your contributions not being implemented and you are not given an explanation why? Are your contributions being implemented, but you are not given credit? Do you constantly have a conflict with the same coworker or coworkers? Does someone just irk you, get on your nerves, under your skin, just by being, and you can't tell him or her off because you are at work? We all want to feel like we have value, and a great deal to offer our place of employment, whether our job is restocking the shelves at the 7/11 or piloting a revolutionary software program that will change the way we prepare our IRS tax returns forever. Whether in a large collaborative work space or a small mom and pop operation, we want to feel like what we do matters. What we say and how we say it really does matter. It can mean the difference between keeping our job or losing it. There is a fine dance between authentic expression in the workplace and going overboard. There is also a fine line between holding one's tongue and withholding communication altogether, commonly called repression.

At work, we have to follow a professional demeanor when expressing one's feelings in the heat of the moment. To be effective, we cannot just fly off the handle like we do at home with our kids or significant other. It is considered unprofessional. I encourage my clients to breathe deeply ten times through the nasal passages to slow their emotions down before expressing themselves during conflict. If this does not work for them, I advise them to take a bathroom break. Sometimes a change of physical place will give one a different point of view, a few minutes to cool down and meditate on a solution rather than on the problem or the personality conflict.

On the other hand, when we hold in completely our reactions to problems, and do not express ourselves at work, it is counterproductive. Repressed feelings in the workplace can be handled by going for a run, a kickboxing class, yoga, a hike in the woods, a walk at the beach, weightlifting, or any activity that gets the heart pumping. The energy that was pent up can be released naturally and powerfully, used for a good purpose, and is healthy for our own physical and mental strength. Then the solution may come in a natural way and the person may be ready to share his or her feelings without freaking out.

Repressed feelings in the workplace environment long term may turn someone into an introvert, or into an antisocial person. The individual may turn to food for comfort, alcohol, drugs, unsafe sex, become sad, or suffer from anxiety, and this may eventually lead to the blues or depression. He or she may not perform their best at work and may not be able to focus. This is a restricting way to live one's life. It affects the whole life, in and out of the work environment. It does not feel good and will not lead to success or happiness inside or outside of the workplace. We need a plan of action.

I suggest if you feel like you cannot fully express who you are at work in a conflict or in a meeting, or if you don't feel comfortable dealing with conflict at work, seek out others who seem to have it all together in that area. Ask for advice from someone you admire. Go to the Human Resources department and ask for help.

The best way for expressing yourself in a timely and level-headed manner is to write down on a note pad the conflict that irks you and what ideas or solution you have to offer. That way you will be seen as a helper rather than as a complainer. That is positive energy. Positive energy is exponential and contagious. Bring the solution to your supervisor as soon as you can. Don't wait too long to seek out assistance, or it may seem like everybody forgot about the problem but you.

Particularly closed off individuals are who I would call shy. Perhaps he or she was raised as an only child. Perhaps he or she was naturally drawn to reading in the bedroom, curled up with a good book instead of playing at the park with all of the other neighborhood kids. We need to show compassion and empathy in the workplace to those folks because we do not know the whole story yet, not until he or she decides to share.

I want to hear from you! How do you express yourself authentically in the workplace?

Blessings,
KJ Landis

Do I Really Have to Eat Organic?

Sometimes we just cannot afford organic produce and meats. I get it, I totally do. I am a server in a restaurant relying on the generous tips of my guests to provide for my family's needs.

When we are making changes from processed, refined foods to a more natural and healthy eating protocol, keep in mind that the best quality food that you can afford is what counts.  You do not have to give up your goals if you cannot buy butter that is raw, organic, and $18.99 for a tub.  It is far healthier to buy veggies, fruits, meats, and seafood within your budget, than the former Standard American Diet.

So, we can let go of the guilt that we cannot afford all organic all of the time. There are many farmers who grow organic and sell at farmers markets, but they cannot afford the organic stamp on their products. Ask around the next time you go to a farmers market.

Make small steps. Perhaps the focus for your shopping will be non-GMO foods. When we stop buying packaged, processed, refined foods, we may find ourselves with more money to buy some things organic. After all, when cereal is $5.00 or more a box, and it lasts less than a week, we can see how processed food costs can add up very quickly, even if we buy in bulk.

Swap out unhealthy oils for one healthy oil. For example, stop buying peanut oil, canola oil, soy oil, corn oil, etc. Then replace those with one super food, like coconut oil.  Coconut oil has medium chain triglycerides for fuel (and fat burning!), can handle high heat, mixes well with vinegar for dressings, and is very inexpensive, even at the raw, organic level.  That's one oil replacing many, therefore saving you money in the long run.

Sit down for a minute and list five types of foods that you want to swap out.  Research local grocery stores, food co-ops, and the internet for cheaper, but healthier alternatives. Believe me, if I can do this on a server's salary, then anyone can do this!

Write to me!  Tell me one thing that you did to shift into a more healthy lifestyle, and how long it has been assisting you on your journey.

Blessings,
KJ Landis

Iodine Deficiency

Did you know most people are low in their iodine measurements when tested by their doctor? It is an important mineral that we need to help balance our hormones, especially our thyroid hormones which regulate metabolism and body temperature. When we farm with only one crop on the same soil over and over again, called monocropping, we rape the soil of certain minerals. That's why we need supplements these days, to supplement what our food used to have in it that it absorbed from the soil it grew in.

Iodine therapy: I have been reading up on thyroid hormone output, menopause, slow metabolism , etc.

My symptoms of menopause have been the usual plus I'm usually cold in the wrists and hands.

I have been using liquid iodine in water twice daily for six months. I will be honest. It tastes metallic and it is hard to swallow, but I think of it as medicine. It is a mineral though. Minerals are rocks and metals in rocks! My experiment has been successful. I used Lugol's brand 5% liquid iodine stirred in eight ounces of water twice a day.

I think the hot yoga helped my menopausal symptoms as well. I'm not cold anymore, my sleep is deeper, my dreams are better, and I'm less fatigued.

Everybody is unique in their mineral needs. Please tweak any experiment to your individual body to see what makes you feel great and perform your best.

Also, read and research on your own the minerals, vitamins, and herbs that we receive from food to heal us rather than always blindly popping a pill. Food for thought...

Blessings!

Pump Up the Music!

My first motivation for pursuing a certification to teach indoor cycling was when I participated in the classes as a student over 20 years ago. The instructors played music that grated on my nerves. I love all kinds of music and wanted the instructors to mix it up. The music played week after week was techno from the mid 80s. It drove me crazy. I didn't want to hurt their feelings by saying it was boring to me when each instructor clearly liked techno and rave music. So, I gently suggested to them to try new things from different eras, even going as far as making CDs and presenting gifts of mixes for them to try. They never used the CDs.

So, I took the next step and signed up for teacher certification training. After an exciting weekend of learning the basics and adding in my own moves to get the best workout for myself, I made mixes on my iPod and applied to be a teacher at the gym I already was a member of. I was accepted as an instructor and from that moment on, I knew my classes would offer something totally new and motivating for the participants. I mixed jazz, world music, rap, reggae, hip hop, soul, gospel, musicals, classical, and more.

After each class, the participants would ask me to make them copies of my mixes because they wanted to use the music for their workouts and for their general pleasure outside of the cycling room. Some of the musicians they had never heard before, and I have over 100,000 CDs at home. This was the biggest compliment I could have ever received. They were motivated to come back to class to see what KJ would play next time!

Word got out and I was hired at a few more cycling clubs around San Francisco. I had a following. It felt good, but not for not for my glory, but for the end result of connection of hearts through music, the bonding ritual of group exercise, and building a tribe of like-minded individuals who supported each other in their health goals outside of the cycling studios.

What is your motivation music? What music says YES? What music has you nodding your head in a positive way, that spurs you on towards your best version of yourself? I use music every day to help me get through what I want to do, what I'm doing at the moment, my feelings, and as a backdrop for my life. I could not imagine my life without it. It is the only thing I know outside of silence that expresses the inexpressible.

Blessings,

KJ Landis

The S.A.D. Diet and How to Get Happy!

1/23/2017

Picture
It is delicious. It is creating a good feeling and then a good memory. It is addictive. It is purposefully created to make us crave more, so that we spend more of our hard earned dollars on it. What am I referring to? The S.A.D. Diet. The Standard American Diet is often referred to as the S.A.D. diet and it is very sad indeed. It is what we see families eating for meals in our fast paced society: processed foods, junk foods, fast food, and prepackaged convenience foods. To begin describing the S.A.D. diet, think about what we view on tv ads: folks smiling, eating out in chain restaurants four to five times a week, instant microwaveable dinners, deli dinners, rotisserie chicken, takeout meals, instant soups, salad bars, bottled dressings with 30 ingredients, etc.

Rarely do we see TV commercials for organic kale. Organic local produce farmers do not have a large budget for their unprocessed, unpackaged, single ingredient foods, where large, processed food companies do! If you have been reading my blog for a while, you know I am a big fan of the real food for healing movement.

So, how do we
transition from the Standard American Diet to the most nutrient dense diet without going broke and without going crazy? The first key is learning how to read ingredient labels. If the labels have scientific names you really cannot pronounce there's a good chance there are chemical additives or preservatives in the product. That cannot be the most healthful for our bodies. If a label has more than five ingredients put it down. If you cannot pronounce the ingredients, put the package down. Stay to the perimeter of the grocery store. The center of the grocery store has processed foods. Even dollar stores and inexpensive grocery stores from every culture have foods that are nutrient dense and inexpensive. I take senior citizens to Dollar stores and to different Asian and Latino grocery stores in San Francisco to teach them how to eat on a very limited budget in a healthful way.

When you begin the journey to real food only and stop eating processed foods, you will suffer cravings the first few weeks. I suggest using water as your ally. The chemical preservatives and the additives in them are not found in nature, but our bodies crave them and the food companies have made them addictive by design.
You won't feel deprived if you drink lots of water daily. That way you can identify if your hunger is true hunger or social and emotional hunger. Eat lots of vegetables with water in them like cucumbers and celery. Vegetables such as artichoke and spinach have a lot of fiber in them. Our intestines love fiber. The bacteria that live in our intestines, called probiotics, live off of the fiber that we cannot digest, but we feed them through fibrous food. The fibrous food we feed our probiotics are called prebiotics. Then we are joyful because the fiber enables us to have a regular elimination system. High fiber foods fill us up faster too, once again aiding us in realizing in whether we are truly hungry or socially and emotionally hungry.

If at a party, drink club soda with lime so you fill up before the processed junk food starts circulating!

My fourth book, Happy, Healthy YOU! will be released this August by Mango Publishing.

KJ Landis

Fat Talk

Fat, fat, fat, fat!
How many times do I need to share with you blessed people that healthy dietary fat won't make you fat?!

After losing the weight with healthy hormones, a gallon of water a day, fish, seafood, lots of greens, and having close to NO fat for 60 days, I added good healthy fats back into my diet. What are these types of healthy fats?

Extra virgin olive oil, cold pressed hemp oil, raw nuts and raw seeds and their oils, avocado, raw nut and seed butters, raw, unpasteurized butter, grass fed butter or ghee, coconut oil, grape seed oil, raw milk and raw cheeses, MCT oil, pastured eggs, fats and skin on the flesh of animals who are raised in their natural habitat. These kinds of healthy fats actually help the body absorb vitamins, minerals, and essential amino acids from other foods they are eaten with.

Coconut oil and MCT oil are especially good at burning excess body fat as they fuel us for our active lives.

Am I clear? The skin, buttocks, and breasts will fill out again and be soft and supple. The muscles will pop if working out with regularity! You will not have brain fog anymore. You will have loads of energy. Any questions ? Let me know!

More helpful information like this can be read in my upcoming book titled Happy, Healthy YOU! It is coming out this August but if I get 7000 pre-orders I have the chance to be on the New York Times Best Sellers List and can help so many more folks heal with nutrition. Please pre-order now on Amazon.com by clicking here. You will not be charged until the book comes out. It will be available in e-book format too. If you pre-order on Amazon.com, they buy 3 more in anticipation of more readers! Help me heal the world through words! Let's do this together!

"You are a wonderful friend to have around-
the most wonder-fullest friend I have found!"

Friends are like that. Close friends are like husbands and wives, like soul mates. We can sit in the park or at the beach on a blanket quietly reading a book, not saying a word and having the most fun at our party ever. The silence shared between friends is a constant party to contrast the heartache some family members or our own selves have bestowed upon us. Friends are a vacation and a resting place. I nestle there comfortably. They are my happy place. I know I must be my own happy place, but sometimes I am not my own happy place. I know when to ask for help. That does not make me weak. It makes me human.

More helpful information like this can be read in my upcoming book titled Happy, Healthy YOU! It is coming out this August, but if I get 7000 pre-orders I have the chance to be on the New York Times Best Sellers list and can help so many more folks heal with mindfulness, connection, restorative practices, self-care, getting outside to play, and knowing when to ask for help. Simple VS Easy

Simple VS Easy

The path to your superior self is a simple one: move lots, lift heavy things, play, laugh, eat food in the form that God made it, and pray a prayer of gratefulness.

This is not easy, but it is simple.  Re-examine why you are reading this post and page. What brought you here in the first place?  Streamline the distractions and focus on the bigger picture: YOU.  I know you are divine and deserve the best of everything that the universe has to offer.  Why not?

I believe that we humans somehow made a contract with God or our higher power to be on earth and to receive the challenges alongside of the abundances. Sometimes it is bliss...Sometimes it sucks!  (Just keeping it real, folks.)

If you are living your best version of your self, your superior self, you have more energy and love to give to others. It never ends!  It is the only math equation that I know of that doesn't make common sense.  We subtract stuff that we give away, but somehow we receive more and more of the good stuff by doing so instead of ending up with less like in regular ol' elementary school math.

So, with that being said, eat your vegetables, go outside and play, sleep like a log, and hug a stranger today!  You never know what wonderful things are in store for you until you push your expansion a little outside of your comfort zone.  Ready, set, GO!

Blessings,

""Big H, little h, howdy hoozie hey! Hoist your hat high off your head and holler out HOORAY!"

Well, friends, this quote tells me It is time to have a party! It is time to celebrate whatever you have done big or small that says yes in your life. Little things and big things mean a lot in our lives whether we acknowledge them or not. We tend to overlook the positive actions that we take towards creating our best lives. What if we die today? We have overlooked so many things that are worth celebrating! We woke up today. We are teaching others today. We went to school today. We went to a job today. We learned today. We exercised today. We cared for our children today. We cleaned today. We washed the clothes today. We did not get into an accident today. We are focused today. We smiled at a stranger today. We were kind to others even though we didn't feel like it. We cared for elders today. So much to say HOORAY for!

What do you want to celebrate right now? I want to hear from you?

"Here's a trick just for you from the Cat in the Hat! Hope your day's filled with wonders as special as that!"

This quote comes from the book The Cat in the Hat. The illustrations have the babysitter teetering things one on top of another and balancing them in amazing form that seems impossible but they are balancing...until they aren't. The kids are hard to convince at first to let go and have fun, to break the status quo, the dogma, the rules, etc. When they finally do, they realize how fun life can be. Then life throws a few messes at them when the balancing things fall and the $#!+ hits the fan. The kids have to figure out how to clean up the mess before mom comes home, with a little help from their new cat friend.

This is a metaphor for life! These are the things I write about in my books! Let go of the rules and old dogma sometimes. We do things because that is the way we have always done them. The old ways are convenient and comfortable. Even if those shoes are too small and we outgrew them to the point where we have our big toes poking through the leather, they are familiar and make us smile to put them on. I get it.

Well, most doctors are comfortable learning medicine and wan to fix things after they are broken, so to speak. They only have a semester or less of current nutrition science and preventive care through food and especially through plants. This is not the doctors' fault. They only have 24 hours a day like the rest of us, and study intensely to get their education! If you adhere to the standard American diet and you are listening to the doctors who are being told what to put on the food pyramid or my plate by the subsidized governmental agricultural society, then the pharmaceutical industry and the hospitals and the mainstream medical industry stays extremely wealthy. It is the largest profitable industry in the world. I believe the patient is responsible for self education and asking questions. I believe we must be partners with our health care providers.

If we focus on preventive healthcare with the same money, we can funnel the funds into safe and clean water, HIV/AIDS prevention and research and other communicable diseases around the world. We can focus on new research on formerly incurable diseases like cancer, ALS, MS, AIDS, type 1 diabetes, and the causes of obesity and fetal diseases. We can funnel money into education around the world and electricity and shelter, a focus on true compassion and equality, mental disorder work and anger management. I need a soap box here! Thank you, Dr. Seuss!

I want to hear from you!
Blessings,
KJ Landis

The negative thought pot is a tool I use in workshops and with private clients. Place your negative thoughts about your self on a piece of paper and scroll it up. Put it in the clay pot and burn it up. This physical manifestation of your destroying negativity gives your power back to yourself! Move forward towards your superior self! If you aren't allowed to burn things in your rental unit or yard, then bury your scroll of negativity. Flush it down the toilet. Mail it to Santa Claus at 1 North Pole Lane, North Pole, Globe. Send that negative thought on its way and replace it with a new story.

If we didn't talk to strangers, we wouldn't meet new deeply important friends. If we didn't talk to strangers, we wouldn't find our lovers and life mates. If we didn't talk to strangers, the importance of sharing thoughts and ideas and passions would be stifled.
Talk to a stranger today, with love in your heart. Let go of fear.

The Garden of Love

1/16/2017

Take a little moment to breathe during the daily rush. Inhale the glorious smells, exhale self hatred and doubt.

Love yourself a bit more. You deserve everything in abundance.

When we take time for our desires, regardless of what others think, it is a self loving moment. If we feel no resentment or guilt when we take time for ourselves, we have the opportunity to grow as a human spirit.
This includes our food choices. When I choose raw butter, or raw cashew butter over Skippy and margarine, I am taking care of my body that my spirit is inhabiting while here on earth. When I choose leafy greens and fresh air with movement and laughter included, rather than stuck in a cubby hole inside (hunched over), my creative ideas may flow freely. Then I have abundant energy!

Conscious cheating is called a treat. Unconscious cheating is self sabotage. Know the difference, acknowledge it, and move forward. Stop the negative self dialogue. We eliminated them with the NEGATIVE THOUGHT POT last time, remember?

This health and wellness thing is a lifelong journey. It will never leave you bored!!! LOLOL

Dr. Seuss and Me #21

"There's always something fun to do when I tick-tock time away with you!"

Spending time with friends is so important for nourishing our souls. Every week I carve out time with Johnnie for hiking and talking about our lives. He is my brother from another mother. We connect in a way that nobody else understands, not even our husbands! I'm so grateful. The magical way we met through another friend's birthday dinner was the beginning of the weaving of a tapestry.

How about you? Who moves you to carve out time with each week? Why?

Blessings,
KJ Landis

How Industrial Cattle Ranching Affects Us

1/14/2017

Picture
When cattle are raised in a natural and sustainable way, their waste (poop) fertilizes the earth for other crops. Their poop is not that stinky either, and when I lived in India, the cow dung was used for building homes.

When cattle are raised in feed lots on grain, the dung is not usable for helping other things grow. The animals live in a stressed out environment, caused by the small space, poor food quality given to them, and the chemicals fed to them by way of hormones, steroids, and antibiotics. The stress of the living conditions increases their stress hormone cortisol, which makes the toxicity in their fat higher. This is one reason why we say if you must eat regular grocery store meat, choose lean cuts rather than fatty cuts.

On the other hand, if you eat pastured,100% grass fed, 100% grass finished meats and dairy, buy the fattiest cuts (and full fat, raw dairy) possible. Those fats are good for us.

How does poor cattle ranching affect the other crops around it? Trees are usually cut down in order to make space for the cattle ranching production. That means there is less oxygen in the air. The fumes when we pass an industrial cattle ranch are horrific, and the crops in that area are not thriving because of the toxic gases in the soil and air. The waste products are carried naturally into the water supply, and this has negative affects on the plants and animals in streams, rivers, as well as negatively affecting irrigation practices.

I'm not suggesting that we should stop eating meat if we don't want to, but I'm suggesting we ask questions from the deli man, the butcher, the grocery store personnel, the farmers, etc. Read the labels, know what the codes mean, and do not be fooled by managers' specials!

Knowledge is power, my friends.
Blessings,

What are Genetically Modified Foods?

1/14/2017

Genetically modified foods are all over the place!  What to look out for in the stores is so important.  Knowledge is power.

1. Soy-Up to 90% of soybeans in the market have been genetically modified to be naturally resistant to an herbicide called, Round Up. This increased resistance to the herbicide allows farmers to use more Round Up to kill weeds. However, this results not only in a genetically modified food product, but also a food product loaded with more chemicals.  The long term effects are not yet known.

2. Corn-Half of the US farms growing corn to sell are growing GMO corn. Most of this corn is going to be used for human consumption. Genetically modified corn has been linked to health problems, including weight gain and organ disruption.  Even if the farm grows organic corn, nearby farms growing GMO corn can cross pollinate in the air and create the organic corn fields to become GMO without any knowledge of the organic farmer.

3. Canola oil-Canola oil is derived from rapeseed oil. It is considered one of the most chemically altered oils sold in the US.  Canola oil was originated in Canada.  Canada+oil=canola.

4. Cotton-Even cotton has been genetically modified to increase yield and resistance to disease. Most concern relates to the cotton oil. Cotton originating from India, and China, in particular, is considered higher risk for personal health.  There are less regulations concerning GMO in those countries.

5. Milk-One fifth of the dairy cows in the United States have been given growth hormones to help them grow faster and increase their yield. These hormones can be found in some of the milk produced by these cows. These growth hormones have been shown to act inside the human body.  We become larger more easily because the hormones made to make the cows bigger.

6. Sugar-Genetically modified sugar beets were introduced to the US market in 2009. These sugar beets are modified to resist Roundup, like corn.

7. Zucchini-Genetically modified zucchini contains a toxic protein that helps make it more resistant to insects. This introduced insecticide, has recently been found in human blood, including that of pregnant women and fetuses. This indicates that some of the insecticide is making its way into our bodies rather than being broken down and excreted.  Long term effects have not been concluded yet.

8. Yellow squash-Yellow squash has also been modified with the toxic proteins to make it insect resistant. This plant is very similar to zucchini, and both have also been modified to resist viruses.

9. Papaya-Genetically modified papaya trees have been grown in Hawaii since 1999. These Papayas are sold in the United States and Canada for human consumption. These papayas have been modified to be naturally resistant to Papaya Ringspot virus, and also to delay the maturity of the fruit. Delaying maturity gives suppliers more time to ship the fruit to supermarkets.  It also makes them have a higher sugar content, spiking our sugar levels when ingested.

These are some of the most prevalent GMO foods found in the supermarket. There are many others currently for sale and being grown for the market. GMO safety is not yet certain, so if you want to stay away from it always keep an eye out for a label that indicates food is organic or non-GMO.

Blessings,
KJ Landis

Dr. Seuss and Me #20

"Will you succees? Yes! You will indeed!"

OK, I think Dr. Seuss had a hidden agenda after reading the book of one liners! He talks about success so much that he was a cheerleader for the kids he was touching with his poetic work. His use of phonetics, rhyming, repetition, and humor was so full of impact. I spoke in past blogs of success, so now let us focus now on what success does to a person.

Success allows one to have a positive self esteem, a confidence, a knowing that he knows. Whether it is in business, relationships, worship and faith, or physical fitness, when we say YES to ourselves and carry on, we are successful. Money is not the only definition of success. Money is not the root of all evil either. It is just a form of moving energy, meant to be utilized.

What do you think about the quote?

Blessings,
KJ Landis

Superior Self's Guide to Wellness from Within

1/13/2017

Picture
Some folks are not ready to make a drastic lifestyle change all at once, so I have developed slower, smaller shifts in the dietary behavior that one makes with 100% commitment. I titled the protocol Superior Self's Guide to Wellness from Within.

The plan for you is step by step. Originally I had coached folks week by week, stacking the changes upon each other. If this is too rapid, adjust your changes as needed. The point is to make successful shifts in eventual mastery, not to add pressure to you already busy lives. It may take six months just to get the gallon of water in daily. Add the next shift to the one already in place. By the end of the program, you will feel great and look great. You may have more energy to do more and serve humanity more. It really is a win-win situation!

I suggest:

Step 1, increase water to a gallon a day.

Step2, give up all wheat products and still drink a gallon of water a day.
Step 3, give up all grains and still drink a gallon of water a day.
Step 4, reduce fruits to 1-2 times a day, always keeping previous changes.
Step 5, reduce fruits to 1-2 servings a week.
Step 6, change your oils to only healthy fats I write about in my books. No consumption of industrial seed oils or hydrogenated oils.
Step 7, no more added sugar, in any form: no honey or agave or date sugar, etc. Buy Lakanto or XYLA on Amazon.com or Whole Foods.

Step 8, purchase raw dairy and pastured eggs if you regularly consume them.
Step 9, give up beans and legumes.
Step 10, write to me and share your experience! I know you can do this. The reasons and science behind my guidelines in the protocol are in my books.

In all of the steps pay particular attention to how you feel rather than how you look. Sometimes flu and cold symptoms, headaches, and general fatigue may plague you. You may suffer acne or a rash for a little while. These are symptoms of the body detoxifying as it gets used to the cleaner fuel you are providing it with. Fear not, and keep moving forward with the process. Moving toward superior health can spur us on to our true superior self. Just think about how clear, attentive, helpful, and generous we can be to others we love when we have taken care of our own essential biochemical needs.

Practice, practice, practice. Eventually your eating choices and preparation of meals will shift to a healthier format and it will become easier. For me, it has not yet become entirely easy. It requires becoming present and conscious at each meal. Remember that you do not have to feel alone. Surround yourself with like-minded individuals. Seek out thought provoking materials to stimulate your journey and spark continued interest in your superior self.

Blessings,
KJ Landis

Raw Dairy

RAW DAIRY

When we go to the grocery store and buy apples or lettuce, does the sign say, "raw apples, raw lettuce?" No, it doesn't. It just is what it is. So, when we buy raw milk or cheese, why does it say raw? We were fooled by the FDA years ago to believe that cooked milk and dairy is normal. Lactose intolerance is caused by the pasteurization of dairy. The molecules change and are further changed by homogenization. If we use raw dairy it contains lactase, not lactose. If humans were lactase intolerant, we couldn't nurse or drink our mother's milk. Mothers lactate. So, if you are lactose intolerant, I encourage you to experiment with real raw dairy products. It is healthful, contains healthy fat and is non-mucous forming!

Blessings,
KJ Landis
