I jumped out of bed to use the restroom and repeated this softly to myself so I wouldn't forget it when I went back to bed. Every time I woke up to go to the bathroom, I repeated it again (women my age use the bathroom a lot in the middle of the night).
Now that I am armed with coffee and the bright morning sun, what does this mean to me? Commitment is a four letter word. It means that commitment to any thing and any one is love based. The four letter word is LOVE! When one has a true love, a true passion for something, one will do the work to make the end good and true to the best of one's abilities. I did not say success is guaranteed. I said to the best of one's abilities! I do not give up on writing my blogs, books, teaching real food facts, and healing through building a tribe of support. I do not give up on my soul mate, whom I have known since 1989, when we happened to meet in a restaurant where I was the server and he was the guest. The refusing to give up on our relationships, goals, and wellness pursuits is love based.
Then the other part of the dream came to me this morning. I remember saying to the crowd, "Fear is a four letter word too." F-E-A-R. Ah, yes, the opposite of love! It all makes sense now. When we are fear based, we may get stuck. We may feel paralyzed. We may feel all alone. We may act out of fear, which may be perceived as hateful by others. I have a Negative Thought Pot, which I use to write down any fears or negative thoughts, and then burn up. I employ the use of the Negative Thought Pot in all of my workshops, so folks may feel open and ready to receive the teachings I'm giving to them. Sometimes the people joining my workshops are skeptical about the burning of their papers, but by the end of the class, they are really happy we started off that way!
I leave you with this: Commitment is a four letter word. Fear is also a four letter word. Knowledge is power, my friends. Have a blessed day.
I want to hear from you!
In Gratitude,
KJ Landis
