I have run 16 marathons in my 40’s. I had a goal to begin at that time because that’s when Oprah ran her marathon. I figured I was old enough to have stamina and endurance by age 40. Plus, who doesn't want to be like Oprah?
I’m a slow jogger, and love running outdoors in nature as well as throughout the city of San Francisco. A tip for falling in love with running is to focus on the neighborhoods or landscape one is running through. Enjoy the new buildings, old architecture, or maybe some unusual restaurants one wants to go back to later on and experience. I also love running because I get alone time. Another wonderful tip is to download your entire music library on a device and hit shuffle. When jogging to a surprise playlist there are moments when you feel like you are in a music video! Music and movement are both uplifting and help us feel good all the time, even when not running!
I have a knee issue after years of jogging, so now my running had been shifted to hiking and race walking, but the same principles apply. So get out there and move your body!
I hope these tips help your readers.
