A fast is a period of time without food. We call the first meal of the morning a breakfast because we haven’t been eating while we sleep. It is literally breaking a fast. Some people aren’t hungry in the morning. I’m one of those folks, so I honor my natural hunger signals.
If we extend the fast by having just coffee, tea, or water in the morning, we can have a longer time between meals and a shorter window of eating time. This has been the style of eating for thousand of years, when food was not literally at our fingertips. Some folks didn’t eat for a day or more while they were hunting or gathering. Then they were laser focused for their skills needed to get fuel.
My fat loss clients add a higher amount of healthy dietary fats into their diets such as olive oil, nuts, seeds, and their butters. This increases satiety and they aren’t hungry for a long while, sometimes leading to a natural development of eating in a 6 to 8 hour window of time.
Personally, I eat one meal a day and drink a gallon of water with lemons and electrolytes. I am not hungry most of the time and honor my hunger signals if I am. I lost 50 pounds 6 years ago and now use my natural fasting as a method to keep the extra fat off.
Thanks for reading this. I hope I can help you, dear readers.
