What a joyful time of the year for all of us in San Francisco. What we miss in the changing of the colors in the leaves because of our temperate climate being about 65 degrees Fahrenheit all year long, we make up for in enthusiasm for my favorite holiday! The homes are decorated more so than Chanukah or Christmas, and more creatively too. The neighborhoods try to outdo each other in fancy chocolates or themed streets and parties for the whole neighborhood. Some areas even have barbershop quartets singing holiday songs from every holiday! Streets are blocked off from autos, so kids can feel safe walking in the middle of the road. Embracing my inner child, and the fact that my birthday is so close to Halloween is a real warm and fuzzy time for me. I encourage all of you to embrace your inner child, put on some craziness, and have fun making memories.
