Ok, from my personal experience, I have had natural, spontaneous, intermittent fasting. During my work week, because of my work schedule, I eat my last meal around 10 pm. Then my body is not hungry until 2:30 pm the next day. The time between my meals is about 16 hours. The gap in meals is called intermittent fasting. I eat lots of nutrient dense food when I do eat, and make sure to have loads of extra fat, like butter, tahini, raw nuts, raw cheeses, raw chocolate, etc. The fats satiate me for long periods of time.
This happens often by accident. I never was a breakfast person, even while growing up. Usually I ate a half grapefruit with sugar on top as a kid. This was just to please my mama, who listened to the media when they said that breakfast was the most important meal of the day.
Nowadays, I have a cup of coffee and water, and then do some sort of a work out. Recently, I learned that this is called working out in a fasted state. It is actually good for fat burning and performance because our body isn't focused on digesting the meal while focusing on performance. Instinctively, my body knew what to do before I even had a name for it!
What do you do before your exercise? Do you eat breakfast? Are you hungry in the mornings?
I want to hear from you!
