The other day my daughter gave me this bookmark, laid sweetly by my bed while I was asleep. She told me later that she had bought it a few months ago at the book fair at school but forgot to give it to me. I had just posted my blog about being vulnerable enough to allow our children to see us make mistakes, so the divine timing was deep and meaningful for me! I got teary eyed and kissed her a hundred times (at least) when I picked her up from school.
The book mark says, MAKE MISTAKES. THEY MAY TURN INTO SOMETHING SPECTACULAR. Yes! Yes, indeed! My whole body, mind, and spiritual energy agrees with this statement in a way I can't quite explode with enough! If I hadn't made the mistake of signing on for a liposuction, three years ago, my husband wouldn't have had the argument with me that led me down the healthy path to fat loss, building muscle, and feeding my intellectual thirst! I wouldn't have written a book, and now a second book on the way. I wouldn't have stopped running in a way that caused me chronic hip pain. And the list goes on.
So, make mistakes. We grow and change when we allow the mistakes to spring us forward into our next big thing. We can become what we are, at our deep core. We can be our superior selves. we are superior to what we were yesterday, and tomorrow is yet another opportunity. If you make a mistake, move forward, and do not self hate or self deprecate.
