I lost 50 pounds in 60 days 6 years ago. Big deal. So what? Did it change my whole existence? No, but my confidence level went up as my pants size went down. The non-scale victory has been maintenance of my pants size throughout the past 6 years. I lost the weight in my late 40s. Most people gain all or part of their weight losses back within 2 years. So as I figured out my ever changing hormone levels and hypothyroidism, I was conscious not of the scale, which I dumped after the 50 pound fat loss, but conscious of my clothing size. Like most women, I enjoy yoga leggings and everything with stretch fabric. It is easy to miss a weight or fat gain. The old fashioned jeans without Lycra spandex became my barometer. The great health I possess now with vibrancy is more important than a scale which measures the earth’s gravity pull upon me. To realize that was a big weight lifted off of my chest. I hope this helps you, dear readers.
