When on my hikes and walks out in nature, I have seen so many families out exercising together! This is perhaps the first time in my life where I have seen so many people hiking, biking, skateboarding, skating, riding scooters, and running together. I witnessed fathers teaching daughters how to ride bikes, and mothers teaching sons how to roller skate! The smiles I witnessed around my local Lake Merced in San Francisco have been genuine. I truly have been keeping my 6 feet away from others not in my inner circle, but a smile travels miles. It is a real time of coming together as humans, if we let it.
This time in our lives can also bring us into a dark place of fear, anger, anxiety, and depression, if we allow those things to happen. The choice is yours. Find a person who you trust to share the darker feelings with. You will find out that you are not alone. Bonding through phone calls, FaceTime, emails, Skype, Zoom, and snail mail can bring us together with each other. The world is going trough this together, as one human race. We need each other and the earth's healing now, more than ever. Every challenge teaches us something. It can make us stronger in the next phase of our lives.
I believe in us. I believe love conquers fear. I have hope and love for you all. Smile at a stranger today. It can change everything.
Blessings,
KJ Landis
