Well, stuff happens. There are germs and viruses floating around us all of the time. It's probably true that after about six months of eating clean the people I help fall ill far less often. That doesn't mean it will never happen. When it does happen we should pay attention to the severity and the length of time it takes to recover from a virus.
I had a fever for the first time in a couple of years this past month. The fever was low with achy joints. My fever broke in 24 hours and the joint pain went away in 72 hours. I think the turn around time was so rapid because of my immune system. I eat very well most of the time and exercise almost daily. I abstain from grains and added sugars 80-90% of the time. I eat lots of wild caught seafood and only 100% grass fed, raw dairy.
Three years ago, before my shift to real and whole foods, my flu would have been at least nine days, as it had been for years, coupled with dehydration and a trip to the doctor.
I'm asking you all to see the glass as half full instead of half empty. Listen to your body. It's easier to hear its needs and acquiesce when we aren't stuffing our bodies with processed junk. Rest when your body tells you to. Give in to yourself once in a while. Stop fighting yourself so much. "It" can wait, until you feel better.
Blessings,
KJ Landis
